Thank you presentations to Ipswich City Councillors

President Dave Roberts had the pleasure of presenting our Mayor and Councillors tokens of the Clubs appreciation for assistance it has received from the City Council over the past year.

Without the help we receive from the Ipswich City Council the Club would not be so progressive and have the great facilities to hold our meeting in.

Well the Stamp Fair is over for another year and thank you goes to all our helpers and those who provide assistance and prizes.

we had so many door prizes that it was only a small few who attended who did not receive a prize.
Thanks also go to Archie Gerzee for providing one of his special 3D's and also making the 3D commemoratives to present to the Councillors.

As the day turned out to be very hot, it was pleasing to see so many turn out for our event.

Over the September school holidays our club hosted an information session for young school children and were pleased with the turn up.

Our next big event is THE STAMP FAIR on November 3rd.

The Overprinted minisheet for the fair, recognizing the clubs 40th anniversary.

Queensland Stamp Show - One Frame National Show 2013, on 21st. and 22nd September was well attended and compliments go to the Planning Committee.

The strong presentation of the Queensland Collectors Society featured picture postcards and  many collectors save both. The show was officially opened by Brisbane Councillor V. Howard.

The presentation evening at the Tattersalls Club was also a very enjoyable night.

Thursday 10 October 2013

Many happening have been on for the Club. Our member David Donald was made Senior Citizen for 2013. A hearty congratulations to David for this reward for his participation within the Ipswich Community.
Some of our members had the pleasure of attending the National collectors and Stamp One frame exhibition at the Brisbane Badminton Centre. It was very worthwhile attending and congratulations go to all exhibitors.

We have had the pleasure of attending various local club meets and enjoy swapping information and viewing their circuit books. The Club also held a learning session for children at the library during the September school holidays, it was very successful.

A BIG REMINDER TO ALL THAT OUR ANNUAL FAIR IS TO BE HELD ON NOVEMBER3, 2013. IT WILL BE AT THE IPSWICH SHOWGROUNDS, FREE ENTRY, CATERING AND AN AUCTION.

PRESIDENTS REPORT 2013

Welcome to 2013, complements of the season to all and hope you had a great relaxing Christmas with friends and family.
During 2012 our club had another busy and successful year, thanks to our committee, members and helpers. A big thanks must go to our local papers the QT, Advertiser and Ipswich News and the wonderful people behind the scenes that help and support our club. Many thanks also to our City Councillors for there help and support, their support is playing a very large part in our five year plan in getting our club out and involved within our wider Ipswich Community. MANY THANKS TO ALL.
2013 will again be a busy and fun year for us all. We had our stand out at the Cameron Park market in January, however, due to the very hot day, it was a very poor turnout. Our Club, on the 18 October 2013, will be celebrating 40 years and is putting together a book on the clubs 40 year history.
This year we have 19 Club Fairs, 7 plus club visits to attend which goes north to Gladstone and south to Lismore. We also have the Queensland National and State Competition/Exhibit in September, a must for all clubs to attend, and/or help where possible. It will more than likely be a long time before Queenslanders will see another.

National competition.

This year I would like to see a concerted effort from all members to increase our membership both in the senior and junior clubs and the awareness that our club does exists in the wider community. All it takes is one OR MORE new members from each of our existing members or just talking about the club and your hobby.

HAPPY COLLECTING

Dave Roberts
